Dharmesh Sheth expects Jonathan David movement amid £20m+ West Ham United transfer news
West Ham United could pay £20-25 million to sign Jonathan David from Lille after what their club president has said, according to Dharmesh Sheth.
The Sky Sports journalist has reported (26 June) that the Hammers are facing competition from Chelsea to land the 24-year-old this summer.
With the Canadian international out of contract with the Ligue 1 side in a year, a fee between £20m and £25m has been mooted, especially after what their club president said about him.
Sheth has shared an update on this, he said: “Significantly, Olivier Létang the Lille president has actually publically come out and said Jonathan David would be allowed to leave this window. Expect movement on that.

The Hammers have been in need of a positive recruitment in the striker position after years of failed moves for big names.
Considering the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Sebastien Haller have gone on to play in European finals, they were clearly good enough for West Ham.
They have both departed the London Stadium and now they have moved on as they look to add to their squad this summer.
David could prove to be a useful acquisition for Julen Lopetegui’s squad this summer as an alternative to Michail Antonio.
Tim Stiedten has already brought Luis Guilherme in as an option to play as a number nine but at just 18 years old, he is lacking in experience.
Danny Ings has been linked with a move away already this summer so a replacement option will be even more necessary.
David would offer something different to what is already available at West Ham and on a cheap fee could prove to be a shrewd piece of business.
