David Moyes steps in as West Ham United look to progress Amadou Onana transfer
David Moyes will ask the West Ham board to try and progress on a deal to sign Amadou Onana this week, according to ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers have had three bids rejected for the Belgian midfield ace, with Lille’s valuation considerably higher than anything West Ham have offered so far.
Despite the gap in valuation though, Moyes is keen to push for the transfer to happen ahead of the opening Premier League weekend of the season and Ex told his Patreon [July 31] that the boss will personally make the request this week.

“David Moyes is also expected to asked the club to speak to Lille again about Onana and try and get some progress on the player this coming week, despite the fees currently being a distance apart,” he said.
West Ham have bid £20m, £25m and most recently £32.2m but it’s believed that Lille want closer to £50m to sell the 20-year-old who they signed from Hamburg last summer for just £5m.
Priorities
There were several positions that needed to be bolstered for West Ham during this summer transfer window and midfield was certainly near the top of the list.
Mark Noble retired and Alex Kral was deemed surplus to requirements, leaving just Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek as senior options.

The arrival of Flynn Downes has made it a little easier on the eye, but another is certainly needed and with the season set to begin next week against the reigning champions, reinforcements are needed.
Onana would be a perfect addition with his technical abilities and his physical attributes to add quality and depth to a squad that is looking to improve upon their 7th place finish from last season.
A big bid will be needed, but it may be one that is necessary to ensure the squad can continue to progress and improve. The fact Moyes is set to get involved shows how important this deal is to him, so they must get it done.
