Darren Bent blown away by ‘unreal’ player West Ham United want to sign
Darren Bent has delivered a glittering verdict on the transfer business during this window by West Ham United, as Carlos Soler edges closer to completing a move.
Bent, speaking with Andy Goldstein and Alex Crook live on talkSPORT [30 August], has described Spanish midfielder Soler as an “unreal” signing for the club, as he arrives in London for a medical before Friday night’s (30 August) deadline.
The Hammers have been confident all day of the deal being completed for the 27-year-old from PSG [Marca, 30 August], allowing James Ward-Prowse to complete a loan switch to Nottingham Forest.
When told by Alex Crook live on air of Soler’s imminent signing, Bent said: “I don’t know where West Ham are getting all these deals from.
“He can seriously play. He is decent… he is unreal. That’s a great signing for them.”
West Ham United set to sign Carlos Soler
Since PSG appeared open to sanctioning a deal for Soler, the Hammers have been right on top of proceedings.
Everton were also reportedly interested in the midfield man [HITC, 23 August], but have instead arranged a loan deal for Lyon’s Orel Mangala.
Soler’s personal terms at the London Stadium have seemed to be little to worry about, with an eagerness to join the club and get started in the Premier League [Fabrizio Romano, 30 August].

Certainly a good age profile at 27, Soler arrives with considerable pedigree having appeared 63 times for the Parisian giants across two seasons, after 226 games for Valencia.
He has also notched four goals in 14 senior Spanish caps, meaning he should add an extra dimension to the Irons’ already-impressive attack.
In other West Ham news, Celtic are chasing one particular Hammer on loan before the deadline.
