Crysencio Summerville set to decide on future as 'last-minute hijack' made for West Ham star

Al-Hilal have made a move for West Ham United star Crysencio Summerville.

After impressing last season, despite West Ham's relegation from the Premier League, and then performing well at the World Cup, Summerville's future has been a big talking point in recent days.

Aston Villa and Roma have both been linked with the Netherlands international, while Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal are now ramping up their efforts to take him to the Middle East.

According to well-known transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Saudi club has now sent offers to both West Ham and Summerville in a bid to sign the 24-year-old winger.

Summerville now faces a cross road in his career.

What will affect Crysencio Summerville's decision

West Ham Zone has already covered claims that Roma are Summerville's preferred destination.

However, as Romano reports via his perosnal X account on Tuesday afternoon, Al-Hilal are trying a "last-minute hijack" to beat the Italians to a deal.

He adds that a final decision is "expected soon".

Luca Cerchione of OcW Sports in Italy has added, however, that Aston Villa have also matched West Ham's asking price for Summerville, which could also throw a spanner into the works.

With Al-Hilal, there's more money. With Roma, there's more prestige and the chance to play in the Champions League. With Aston Villa, there's Champions League football but there's also the opportunity to stay in the Premier League, a league that he's already known to perform well in.

So who will be signing him from West Ham?

Right now, it feels like Roma are the front-runners, despite Al-Hilal's last-ditch attempt to gatecrash their deal.

Villa have an agreement with the Hammers but not with Summerville, which suggests that they're struggling to convince the Dutchman to swap London for Birmingham.

Roma just need to match what the Championship club wants for Summerville and the job will probably be a good one for them.

But Al-Hilal are likely to be able to do that and them some, so from a financial perspective, an agreement with the Saudis probably makes more sense for West Ham.
