Champions League club register ‘concrete interest’ in Soungoutou Magassa as West Ham exit possible

Soungouto Magassa joined West Ham in the summer, but has already caught the attention of clubs abroad.

Despite the risk of relegation staring them in the face, West Ham have still made just two signings, though reports claim they could be closing in on a third with a move for Keiber Lamadrid.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, exits have been talked about more, with the Hammers having already sanctioned departures for the likes of Luis Guilherme and Niclas Fullkrug.

Yet another exit could be on the cards from the London Stadium, this time in the form of Magassa.

West Ham's done deals so far.

Galatasary linked with Soungoutou Magassa transfer

Magassa has been mooted for an exit from West Ham since the start of the window, having been in and out of the starting 11 this season.

The Frenchman has started nine of the 14 Premier League games he has appeared in, totalling 738 minutes of action.

However, Foot Mercato have since reported that Galatasary have shown a “concrete interest” in signing the 22-year-old, who joined from AS Monaco in the summer.

The Turkish side, who are due to play Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, could sign Magassa on an initial loan deal, before assessing his quality ahead of a potential move in the summer.

Serie A outfits AC Milan and Juventus are also said to be interested in his services this season, potentially sparking worry at the London Stadium.

Graham Potter statement could be debunked already at West Ham

Of course, when Magassa made the move to the London Stadium, Graham Potter was the man in charge.

For him to have been sacked so soon after his arrival cannot have helped his development whatsoever, which has ultimately led to Nuno Espirito Santo using him as more of a bit-part player.

However, the Frenchman arrived with high hopes, and that was echoed by Potter in his statement shared by West Ham when the signing was announced.

He said: “He has a range of attributes and qualities that we feel will complement what we already have at the club and also help to improve us.

Magassa’s stats this season.

“Soungoutou is a determined, hungry and focused young man – we are looking forward to working with him and excited to see him continue his development with us.”

If these reports are to be true, there is every chance that Magassa could be set to continue his development elsewhere, while also leaving the Hammers even lighter in a midfield area that is already short of options.
