Carlos Soler prioritises return transfer after West Ham United exit

Carlos Soler could potentially return to the Premier League this transfer window after leaving West Ham United.

The midfielder signed for the Hammers on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but he could be in the English top flight once again before the end of August.

Soler had a mixed tenure at the London Stadium, with the Irons finishing 14th in the Premier League.

Graham Potter didn’t make the PSG ace’s move to the East London outfit permanent, but a return could be on the cards.

Premier League or La Liga return priority for Soler after West Ham exit

Soler is prioritising a return to the Premier League or La Liga in the ongoing transfer window, according to Super Deporte.

The news outlet reports (22 July) that the midfielder isn’t in Luis Enrique’s plans at the Parc des Princes after his loan spell at the London Stadium.

It’s been claimed that the former Valencia star would like to sign for a team in Spain or England this summer, with his agent working on a potential move.

It remains to be seen how Soler’s situation at PSG unfolds and whether the Hammers will make a last-minute effort to secure another temporary deal.

Potter needs transfers at London Stadium this summer

Kyle Walker-Peters became Potter’s first summer signing at the Irons, and he made his non-competitive debut in the 3-1 win against Grasshoppers on 19 July.

Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal left the East London outfit at the end of last season, and it isn’t surprising to see them focus on defensive reinforcements.

Kyle Walker-Peters has also arrived at the London Stadium as a free agent, but more additions are arguably needed after the English manager’s struggles in the previous campaign.

West Ham fans were expecting their team to compete for a European spot after investing a lot of money last summer, but apart from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, none of the incoming players have lived up to expectations.

Mohammed Kudus, Danny Ings, Michail Antonio and Evan Ferguson won’t be part of the Hammers’ squad next season, making attacking reinforcements an evident priority for them.

Potter should push the Irons to sign more players in the coming weeks, but only time will tell how the situation in E20 will unfold.
