Carlos Soler ‘one to watch’ for West Ham United in coming days

Florian Plettenberg has suggested that West Ham have Carlos Soler on their transfer radar ahead of deadline day.

The Hammers have shown an interest in the Spaniard with talks scheduled with his representatives booked for the coming days [Fabrizio Romano].

Now Sky Sports Germany journalist Plettenberg reported on 20 August that the ex-Valencia star could still complete a move to the London Stadium.

He said: “Carlos Soler, definitely one to watch for West Ham in the next days as the 27 y/o is on their list!

“Soler could leave Paris Saint-Germain until Deadline Day. Contract valid until 2027.”

West Ham keep up interest in Carlos Soler

The Irons’ summer transfer business isn’t over yet as they seem to be maintaining their interest in bringing in another midfielder.

This comes despite Tim Steidten already bringing in eight fresh faces for the new campaign.

An addition in this area of the pitch also comes as a surprise somewhat given the number of players already available in this position.

It is likely that the signing of Soler would point towards an exit for a current star with Tomas Soucek linked with a departure most recently.

The Spaniard would certainly play into the tactical approach that Julen Lopetegui will be looking to employ at the London Stadium.

With that being said, this deal feels more like West Ham of the past, signing an older player on a large wage after failing at a big club.

This signing could prove to be a risk but only time will tell for the midfielder in East London.
