Caglar Soyuncu's England return now close amid West Ham United talks
West Ham United are continuing to work on a deadline day deal for former Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu.
The Hammers are in the market for defenders ahead of the window closing at 11pm on Tuesday.
A deal for left-back Adama Boiro appears to be close for West Ham, but a centre-back is also wanted.
Soyuncu emerged as a surprise target for West Ham earlier on deadline day.
And a further update has now been shared, with the experienced centre-back - now at Fenerbahce - close to a return to English football.

What is latest with Caglar Soyuncu to West Ham?
West Ham only have until 11pm to strike a deal with a new centre-back, so the clock is very much ticking.
Soyuncu has gained a bit of a bad reputation following his time on these shores, but it must be remembered he played a part in Leicester's FA Cup success in 2020-21.
He was also recently on Atletico Madrid's books and has further Champions League experience at Fenerbahce.
In an update shared by Turkish outlet Kramponlu Pisagor via X on Tuesday afternoon, it was reported talks between West Ham and Soyuncu are continuing.
The report adds that the 30-year-old "could return to England at any moment".
Whether or not that is with West Ham remains to be seen, but right now it does certainly look as though a deal could be on.
Why does Jamie Carragher love watching Soyuncu?
Soyuncu had five years in England with Leicester, during which time - in 2019 - Jamie Carragher tweeted he "loves watching" the defender.
If nothing else, it was never boring when Soyuncu was on the field for Leicester.
West Ham cannot just sign a centre-back for the sake of it, so you would assume research has been done into Soyuncu.
If the club feel he is the right option, and gettable, then it may just make sense.
