Bayern Munich want to sign Sabitzer, need to sell West Ham-linked Tolisso first

Bayern Munich need to sell West Ham target Corentin Tolisso before they can sign £15.2million-rated Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig, according to BILD.

The German newspaper claims West Ham and Juventus are interested in 27-year-old Tolisso, who’s in the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena.

Tolisso has had a tough year and has been in self-isolation in his native France after testing positive for COVID-19.

However, BILD claims he’s set to return to first-team training with Bayern on Tuesday and that “could generate momentum in terms of [a] transfer” especially as ” XXL deals are just starting in the Premier League”.

Extra depth in the midfield

David Moyes’ outfield options are rather sparse going into the new Premier League season, which kicks off this week.

Alphonse Areola has been the only new player to arrive in East London this summer with the French goalkeeper joining on a loan-to-buy basis from Paris Saint-Germain.

Jesse Lingard has left after his loan spell ended and is yet to be replaced while Sebastien Haller, Fabian Balbuena and Felipe Anderson have gone since January and none have been replaced.

Even though none of those are central midfielders like Tolisso, the France international plays in an area of squad that could do with an extra body or two.

Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice are nailed on starters for next season but if either of them get injured or suspended, who comes? Mark Noble, more than likely.

Tolisso is an upgrade on Noble and may even get a chance to start regularly in the side as we’ll be competing in Europe, as well as in domestic competitions.

This would be a very good deal to get done before the transfer window shuts.

In other West Ham news, a player is set to jet into London for a medical with the Irons once a major hardly has been passed.
