Barcelona talent Marc Casado rejects West Ham transfer
Young Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado has rejected a move to West Ham with an offering being made for him, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish newspaper reported on Friday (22 July, page nine) that the 18-year-old’s development in Barcelona led to “superior financial offers” from the Hammers, as well as Premier League rivals Brighton and Southampton.
It is understood that Casado has decided to stay at Barca as the club is close to his heart and because he is progressing well within their academy.

Another rejection
David Moyes must feel like a hopeless teenager trying to get a date for prom night.
It’s one rejection after another, isn’t it?
Of course, this one is more understandable than Jesse Lingard turning down a return to the London Stadium in order to join newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.
Casado has been included in the Barcelona’s pre-season tour squad of the USA so ti seems as though he’s very much on the radar of manager Xavi.
He’s yet to play for Barca’s B team, let alone the first-team, in a competitive match but the Spain Under-17 international is surely showing a lot of promise to be in the States with the senior side.
Last season, he did make the Barcelona B squad on numerous occasions but was nothing more than a bench warmer as he mainly had to make do with Under-19s football.

The young midfielder could be one to watch over the coming years because if he continues to struggle to break through at the Nou Camp, West Ham might want to reignite their interest in the defensive midfielder, who wore the captain’s armband for Barcelona in the UEFA Youth League last season.
West Ham’s transfer business has been slow this summer and Nayef Aguerd’s injury just about sums up the luck we’re having right now.
Moyes needs to get a move on.
