Axel Disasi’s medical results are in as West Ham face race against the clock

Axel Disasi’s loan move to West Ham could fall through in a stunning turn of events.

The 27-year-old defender is in search of regular game time at Chelsea, and the Hammers presented him with the opportunity to stay in London.

West Ham are in desperate need of a centre-back, and they held previous interest in Charlie Cresswell and Roggerio Nyakossi.

However, they fought off competition to secure a loan move for Disasi, and he has passed his medical.

With the transfer window shutting at 7pm, the Hammers may have been dealt an almighty blow in their efforts to sign Disasi due to his demands.

Jean-Clair Todibo’s red card against Chelsea means he will miss the next three games through suspension.

Brighton also recalled Igor from his loan spell in E20, which leaves only Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavropanos as the centre-back options at the moment.

Disasi was on course to join West Ham, although the deal has hit a snag at the last minute.

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol reported close to Monday’s deadline that the move may collapse due to his demands.

He has passed his medical, but has already seen potential moves to Tottenham, Bournemouth and other clubs fall through in previous windows due to similar circumstances.

Having spent six months on loan at Aston Villa last season, it’s clear that he is capable of performing at this level, and the Hammers face a race against time to agree to what he wants.

Axel Disasi’s demands are an incredibly bad sign for West Ham

The France international has virtually been exiled at Chelsea, and there is no reason for him to stall this deal.

The fact that he has already passed his medical, but is still causing an issue, is a massive red flag.

He is in no position to bargain any further, or he risks spending another six months out of action.

The fact that he has done this on previous occasions isn’t a good look, and it gives the impression of someone who doesn’t truly want to play for West Ham.

If he does end up making the move, it’s up to him to prove to the fans that he will give 100 per cent while wearing the shirt.

Either way, West Ham can’t afford to miss out on him; otherwise, it would be a huge dent to their survival hopes.
