Antonin Kinsky ready to leave Tottenham as West Ham line up brand new January transfer

West Ham are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Antonin Kinsky has emerged as the standout option, with the Czech Republic international failing to get much game time at Tottenham.

West Ham were previously interested in Bento, but the Al-Nassr goalkeeper chose to join Italian side Genoa instead.

Alphonse Areola has been impressive at times this season, although Nuno clearly doesn’t trust the French shot-stopper to be his long-term number one.

Kinsky now looks likely to make a move in January, and West Ham are in an ideal position to sign him on loan after he revealed his intentions to leave Tottenham.

Antonin Kinsky expresses his desire to leave Tottenham on loan

Kinsky, who joined Tottenham in January 2025 in a deal worth in the region of £12.5million, has made just two appearances under Thomas Frank so far this season.

Expecting to start in the domestic cups, Kinsky was snubbed for first-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario during Spurs’ 2-1 loss to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Football London journalist Ryan Taylor has reported that the 22-year-old wishes to leave Tottenham on loan, with West Ham and Wolves among Premier League clubs eyeing him up.

Freiburg, Besiktas, and Auxerre are also teams in Europe that have taken interest, although moving to another English club would benefit him the most.

Kinsky is yet to make his senior national team debut, and it’s said that he had been hoping for a call-up ahead of March’s World Cup qualification play-off against the Republic of Ireland.

Regular game time would give him the best chance possible of helping his side qualify for the 2026 World Cup, and playing at the London Stadium could be the best place for him to achieve that.

If Kinsky were to join, he would naturally be at the top of the pecking order.

What does this mean for Mads Hermansen’s future?

This would mean trouble for Mads Hermansen, whose £20m move from Leicester City in the summer has been a spectacular failure.

Hermansen started in West Ham’s 2-1 over QPR on Sunday, and delivered a fairly assured performance.

The Dane would not appreciate being the third-choice goalkeeper, and his value will continue to plummet with the lack of game time.

He has gone down as David Sullivan’s worst signing of the summer transfer window, and the future certainly doesn’t look bright for the 25-year-old.

Should Kinsky make the move across London, Hermansen’s West Ham career could be over in an instant.
