Alan Pardew reacts to Jarrod Bowen exit comment at West Ham United

West Ham United could potentially lose Jarrod Bowen in the upcoming transfer window, with Alan Pardew making his feelings known.

The England international has been one of the best players at the East London outfit over the years, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see top clubs lining up for his signature in the coming months.

There’s been talk about Bowen leaving Graham Potter’s team to find success elsewhere next summer.

The 28-year-old was once again on the scoresheet as the Hammers drew 1-1 against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday (5 May), and with the struggles in E20, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

Bowen can stay at West Ham for years to come

Bowen could potentially stay at the London Stadium for the next three or four years, Pardew says.

The former Crystal Palace manager believes it isn’t far-fetched to think that the English attacker may opt to remain at the Irons after what he’s been able to do there.

When asked whether the 28-year-old should leave the Hammers, Pardew dismissed the suggestion as the forward has already enjoyed success in East London.

Speaking on talkSPORT (4 May, 18:56), the 63-year-old head coach said: “No, I don’t think so. I think West Ham have been great for him. He’s obviously won a Conference Cup there. He’s been brilliant. He’s obviously loved by the fans.

“When I go back through great careers, some players never moved from football clubs. That used to be the norm. So why can’t he stay there for the next three or four years?”

Potter needs to build around Bowen at London Stadium

Potter’s record in the Premier League since taking over the Hammers has been underwhelming, and it would’ve arguably been worse had it not been for Bowen.

The English manager was expected to turn the tide at the East London outfit after replacing Julen Lopetegui, but while the performances have improved somewhat, the results have largely remained negative.

While the Irons aren’t at risk of relegation, they sit 17th in the English top-flight table with just three games left to play.

West Ham may receive offers for Bowen in the upcoming transfer window, but they should resist selling their talisman.

David Sullivan should strive to build the Irons around the England international, with next summer being a massive window for them.

A major overhaul of the Hammers’ squad next summer could potentially occur after many players have underperformed this season.

Potter also seems to be on thin ice as fans won’t tolerate him if the East London outfit don’t make immediate progress in the upcoming campaign.

Losing Bowen will be a significant blow for the Hammers, and they’ll arguably hope he stays for many years to come.
