Ademola Lookman sends message as West Ham transfer officially announced

Ademola Lookman has been linked with a move to West Ham.

The Hammers are in the market for a new winger after selling Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham in a £55million deal.

The 27-year-old fits the bill as he notched 20 goals and seven assists in all competitions for Atalanta last season.

Whether Graham Potter and Co can get a deal over the line for the former Fulham star remains to be seen.

Lookman reacts as Walker-Peters to West Ham confirmed

Amid the speculation over a move to the London Stadium, Lookman has reacted to a new transfer for the E20 outfit.

Kyle Walker-Peters was confirmed as a new signing in East London (20 July) and took to Instagram to announce the move, saying: “My new home. Really excited to be here, can’t wait to get started! COYI”

Lookman played with the new Hammers star in the England youth ranks and sent a message after he completed his switch, commenting with a heart and a flexed bicep emoji.

Tottenham star Dominic Solanke also commented, saying: “Let’s get it,” with a white heart emoji.

West Ham can seal Lookman deal next

Lookman reportedly wants to return to English football after a successful spell in Italian football, and Potter needs a winger after losing Kudus.

Iconic commentator Ian Darke believes that the former Everton and Leicester ace would be a brilliant replacement for Kudus, labelling him as “electric”.

He is a better player than the new Spurs man and has drastically improved as a footballer since his last stint in the Premier League with the Foxes.

The Italians are believed to be looking for a £52m fee for the Nigerian international, who has notched 52 goals and 25 assists in 118 matches since his 2022 move, and the Hammers have just banked more than that for selling the Ghanaian.

It seems a no-brainer for David Sullivan, as Lookman has European experience and has proven his quality in a top-five league, it is exactly the type of player that the Irons should be targeting.

The only issue may be convincing him to make the move; he may have his sights set on a bigger move than Potter’s side, as it is an ambitious swoop from the team that finished 14th in the league.
