Adama Traore at Rush Green as West Ham transfer accelerates after fresh doubts

West Ham are looking to complete another attacking signing in the winter transfer window.

David Sullivan has already heavily invested in strikers, spending £47.7million on Taty Castellanos and Pablo.

However, the Hammers aren’t done there, and Fulham winger Adama Traore is on the verge of completing a move to E20.

Nuno Espirito Santo is desperate to sign Traore after spending three years together at Wolves, and the move is close to being completed.

He is desperate for more game time in the Premier League, and reports have stated that he is currently at Rush Green.

Adama Traore spotted at Rush Green despite initial doubts over transfer

It was reported on 26 January that West Ham bid £1million for Traore, with an additional fee of £1m if they manage to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

The Spaniard will sign a six-month deal, and the Hammers have the option to extend it for an extra year.

ExWHUEmployee initially reported that Traore is now at Rush Green as the process of his transfer begins to accelerate, and this was confirmed by talkSPORT correspondent Alex Crook.

The move was initially in doubt as Traore wanted assurances from Nuno about his game time.

The 30-year-old has hardly been used by Fulham manager Marco Silva, and needed to be guaranteed minutes in E20 before making up his mind.

He now should be announced as a new West Ham player in the coming days, and he’ll likely be registered in time for Saturday’s trip to Chelsea.

West Ham are embroiled in a relegation battle, and their squad depth will prove to be incredibly important as the season continues.

Adama Traore can provide brilliant cover for Jarrod Bowen

Traore is known for his pace and power, yet he has been scrutinised for his lack of end product in the final third.

However, he is a huge asset to have as a substitute, and defenders have struggled to deal with his physicality in the past.

After enjoying a successful spell at Wolves under Nuno, he eventually joined Fulham in August 2023.

Although Nuno will continue to use Bowen on the right, having Traore at his disposal would give him the opportunity to rest the England star at times when he’s not needed.

If you add to the fact that Nuno and Traore have a positive pre-existing relationship, this move could work out for all parties.

Traore is joining the Hammers when the stakes are at an all-time high, and he has to prove himself to the fans that he has what it takes to help them avoid relegation.
