Aaron Wan-Bissaka heads to London on Sunday morning ahead of West Ham United transfer

Aaron Wan-Bissaka will travel to London on Sunday (11 August) in order to complete his medical ahead of a transfer to West Ham, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist reported on 10 August that with the Hammers having agreed a £15million transfer fee with Manchester United for the right-back [David Ornstein, 10 August], Wan-Bissaka will edge closer to his move.

The 26-year-old will be travelling to London on Sunday ahead of starting his medical at the club, which is expected to begin in the afternoon.

Wan-Bissaka has reportedly already agreed personal terms with the Irons [HITC, 8 August], and will become their seventh permanent signing of the summer once his move to the London Stadium is complete.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer gives West Ham a dream defence

The London Stadium transfer conveyor belt has gone into overdrive in recent weeks, with Julen Lopetegui fully putting his stamp on a side which could look entirely different in the coming campaign.

Wan-Bissaka’s impending arrival in East London gives the Spaniard the new right-back signing he has wanted throughout the summer, and gives Vladimir Coufal significant competition.

Ben Johnson’s departure on a free transfer left the Czech veteran as the only out-and-out senior right-back on the Hammers’ books, but Wan-Bissaka more than fills that void.

Having arrived at Manchester United for an eye-watering £45m in 2019, Wan-Bissaka will move to the Irons having entered the last year of this Old Trafford contract – hence the cut-price fee.

Regardless of the price, with Wan-Bissaka set to line up alongside fellow new signings Max Kilman and recent Nice loanee Jean-Clair Todibo, Lopetegui could well have a defensive line at his disposal which is the envy for many a Premier League side – a stark contrast to last season.

In other West Ham news, another Ligue 1 side are reportedly set to match the Hammers’ bid for one centre-back transfer.
