Aaron Wan-Bissaka decision made amid West Ham United transfer links
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has not travelled with the Manchester United squad for the Manchester City game as he’s linked with a move to the London Stadium, according to West Ham Football.
The outlet reporting on all things Hammers claimed on 10 August that one source claims it’s due to a transfer agreement being close.
The 26-year-old is also understood to be carrying an injury and thus did not train with the club.
The news outlet wrote on X: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka has not travelled with the Manchester United squad for today’s Charity shield at Wembley between the two Manchester Premier League clubs according to a source close to the Red Devils.
“While AWB has been suffering from a small injury since and did not train yesterday,
the same source insists his absence is related to a potential move to West Ham with Manchester United closer to agreeing a compensation package with their right back.”
Aaron Wan-Bissaka must not aggravate his injury which would jeopardise a move to West Ham
Wan-Bissaka’s potential move to the Hammers is a significant transfer that could greatly benefit both the player and the club.
However, the deal hinges on his fitness, as the London club will conduct a medical before finalising the transfer.
If Wan-Bissaka aggravates his injury during the Community Shield match against Manchester City or even in training, it could cast doubt on his ability to pass the medical.
This uncertainty could lead West Ham to reconsider the transfer, potentially costing Wan-Bissaka a lucrative opportunity and leaving Manchester United with an injured player on their hands.
Therefore, it is crucial for Wan-Bissaka to prioritise his long-term prospects and avoid exacerbating his injury, ensuring he remains a viable option for the Hammers and secures a successful move to the London Stadium.
It would be another important signing for Julen Lopetegui who has been backed well by the board this summer.
In other West Ham news, a top Julen Lopetegui transfer target has failed to show up for training as he eyes a move to the London Stadium.
