Aaron Cresswell makes West Ham United contract decision amid house construction in North-West
Sun journalist Alan Nixon has reported West Ham star Aaron Cresswell is ready to commit his future to the club.
In a report on his official Patreon page, ReluctantNicko (18 June), Nixon claimed that Cresswell is prepared to sign a new West Ham contract, with the Hammers keen to keep hold of the Englishman.
The update comes amid news that the left-back is building a house in the North-West of England with a view to returning back to his native Merseyside at some point down the line.

However, it seems as if the 33-year-old will be staying put for now after lifting his first career trophy last season when West Ham defeated Fiorentina in the UEFA Conference League final.
Although he did not start the final, Cresswell made seven appearances in the competition last season including playing both full 90s of the two legs of the semi-final.
Smart move
At the age of 33, Cresswell’s best days are behind him, however, it is key for top clubs to always have players like himself around the dressing room with West Ham’s decision to keep him at the club a smart one.
The left-back can have a big impact on younger players coming through and his experience and influence on the side can only be a positive thing. He made 38 appearances in all competitions last season and is still more than capable of helping the team when he is needed.

If he is to sign a new contract, this coming season will mark his 10th year with the club and his West Ham know-how and vast Premier League and European experience could prove very useful next season. The club will be back in Europa League action and will need a big squad to try and go deep into the competition.
Having experienced, proven players will be essential for any potential European journey, rather than bringing in players who may not hit the ground running. Cresswell therefore certainly still has a lot to offer.
