£5m gap in valuation between West Ham United and Ajax for Mohammed Kudus – ExWHUemployee

West Ham and Ajax are only £5m apart in their valuation of Mohammed Kudus with a deal still on despite Lucas Paqueta’s move to Manchester City collapsing, reports ExWHUemployee.

Writing on his Patreon account (18 August), the reliable insider reports that despite some concerns over whether or not the club would continue to pursue a deal for the Ghana international after Paqueta’s move to Man City collapsed amid betting allegations.

However Ex says a deal is still on the cards and was separate from Paqueta’s potential exit, with the clubs only around £5m apart in valuation after Tim Steidten’s talks in Amsterdam.

West Ham

“People are worried that the Mohammed Kudus transfer was now going to fall through as a result of the Paqueta situation,” he said.

“As we have already reported it doesnt! Alvarez was scouted in April and during that time Kudus really stood out and was also recommended to the club. Tim Steidten has been in Amsterdam talking to his club Ajax to get the deal completed.

“Talks are said to have gone well today although there is still some distance on the fee. It is only thought to be around £5m apart and talks will continue to get closer to an agreement.”

Exciting

Many fans were excited at the prospect of Kudus joining and being the man to replace Paqueta in the midfield had he moved to City.

But with the Brazilian now set to stay and the Hammers still moving for Kudus, fans can be even more excited at the prospect of them linking up at the London Stadium.

West Ham

Kudus has shone in recent times for Ajax and Ghana, and with just £5m between the clubs’ valuations you would expect a compromise to be found sooner rather than later that would see a deal agreed.

Personal terms aren’t expected to be an issue for West Ham either, and with Ex’s record with reliability it can be assumed that this is quite close.

It’s a great time and what looked like being a period of losing our best players, the Hammers now could end up being considerably stronger by the end of the window.
