West Ham United can’t wait for Mohammed Kudus to comeback after unexpected stat
Mohammed Kudus didn’t do West Ham United any favours when he picked up a red card against Tottenham, but the Ghanaian’s importance can’t be dismissed.
The former Ajax star was shown a red card for his actions in the 4-1 loss to Spurs on 19 October in the Premier League, and the FA retrospectively gave him a further two-match suspension for his conduct.
Kudus received the ire of some fans who felt the act was immature on his part, with the Hammers already struggling this season.
The 24-year-old has been the Irons’ talisman since his move to the London Stadium last summer, and with Niclas Fullkrug nowhere to be seen, the Ghana international has become even more essential for Julen Lopetegui.
West Ham sit fourteenth in the league table, and the Hammers faithful haven’t had much to look forward to in the last few months.
Mohammed Kudus a threat for West Ham United
While the Irons have struggled for the most part, Kudus has shone at the club over the last year, with the attacker completing the most dribbles in the English top flight in 2024, with 111, with the second-best Jeremy Doku of Manchester City at 65, as per WhoScored.
In the current campaign, Kudus has made eight appearances in the Premier League, scoring two goals, with an xG of 2.83, and has almost 89 per cent passing accuracy and 57 per cent dribbling success, as per FotMob.
The Ghanaian has also created five chances, six successful crosses, 40 touches in the opposition box and even contributed defensively, winning 53 duels.
The Irons supporters can’t wait for Kudus to come back against Leicester City on 3 December, although he will miss the games against Newcastle United and Arsenal in the league.
Given the clear struggles, this reveal was unexpected, but it is needed more than ever right now.
