West Ham United may head into their clash against Brentford with some added positivity after the latest set of announcements.

The Irons lost the reverse fixture earlier in the season to the Bees but did manage to knock them out of the FA Cup as well.

Keith Andrews has Brentford in an excellent and unforeseen position, with many expecting the Bees to be down where West Ham are currently placed.

Nuno Espirito Santo has done extremely well to bring the Irons out of their early season slump, with the East Londoners out of the relegation zone.

Craig Pawson has been the main decision to officiate proceedings when the Hammers travel to the Gtech Community Stadium.

Additionally, he issues a foul for every 0.67 tackles, while dishing out two red cards this campaign so far.

Pawson has also awarded five penalties this season in the Premier League with a penalties-per-game total of 0.28.

In the Premier League, the Hammers have a strong record with Pawson officiating matches in recent history.

Over his last five league games refereeing the Irons, West Ham has won all five of those matches.

Additionally, over the total balance of 28 matches across all competitions throughout his history refereeing, West Ham have just a 28.5 per cent losing record.

Furthermore, West Ham have a points per game total under Pawson at 1.57.

While West Ham did lose their last match against Leeds in the FA Cup under the referee, that fixture did end up going to penalties, with the Hammers completing quite the comeback on the day.

Overall, there are plenty of positives with Pawson officiating, as the Irons frequently do well with him in the middle of the pitch.

Hopefully, that streak continues with this beneficial omen, and the Hammers push towards survival, with Callum Wilson surely in line to start versus Brentford after his heroics against Everton.
