This is what will annoy West Ham fans the most after 3-0 defeat vs Tottenham
West Ham are again in disarray after their awful 3-0 defeat against Tottenham.
West Ham supporters left the London Stadium in masses after just 64 minutes against Spurs, with Graham Potter’s side capitulating in the second half.
It meant that the Hammers became the first side in the Premier League to concede more than ten goals, and they have now already conceded almost a third of Arsenal’s total last season.
Pundits and supporters are fuming with the Irons, and there have been plenty of calls for Potter to be relieved of his West Ham duties.

West Ham are currently conceding a goal from every five corners this season
Calls for David Sullivan to step down as West Ham chairman have also been floating about, with the Hammers’ owner not blameless in the scenario.
Callum Wilson is West Ham’s only fully fit striker, and the responsibility of signing a new number nine was on Sullivan’s shoulders over the summer.
However, the businessman can’t control what goes on the pitch, with Potter failing to address one key issue in defence.
The Hammers have been conceding on average one goal from every five corners they have given away so far this season.
- West Ham conceded six goals from corners in the 2024/25 season
- That was two fewer than they conceded in the 2023/24 campaign
- They averaged a goal conceded every 25 corners
With Nayef Aguerd departing for Marseille, it had been hoped that the Irons’ defensive issues had been solved.
The loan signing of Igor Julio from Brighton seems to add some defensive stability, but the Brazilian has yet to feature so far this season.
Set pieces are becoming a problem for the Irons, who conceded an expected goals of just 0.03 from open play in the first half against Spurs.

What Graham Potter said about the corner conceded vs Tottenham
Pape Matar Sarr pounced on a corner from Xavi Simons at the back post to put Spurs 1-0 up in the 47th minute.
It wasn’t the first time the Hammers had been caught out from a corner in the defeat, with Cristian Romero’s first-half header ruled out for a foul.
After the game, Potter admitted he wasn’t concerned by the number of chances given away from set pieces.
“We defended nine or 10 set pieces really well before their goal,” he said.
“I can understand once you’ve conceded from a set piece, you’ll ask the question, but I thought we defended them well. It was a mistake we made at the back post. It shows the margins at this level.”
It simply isn’t good enough, and these excuses will annoy West Ham fans the most.
