The numbers that prove why Konstantinos Mavropanos is now undroppable at West Ham
Konstantinos Mavropanos may have a new lease of life at West Ham.
Nuno Espirito Santo has been brought in by West Ham, to arrest the decline that has set in under Graham Potter.
Mavropanos looked to be on the chopping block at West Ham, but the Greek defender seems to have turned it around.
Nuno’s solid defensive approach looks to be benefiting Mavropanos, and he may be one of the first names on the teamsheet at the London Stadium now.

Konstantinos Mavropanos was brilliant against Arsenal
West Ham may have lost 2-0 against Arsenal, but the 27-year-old was not to blame, as he put up a great display.
Mavropanos ranked first among the Hammers for clearances with 16 and aerial duels attempted with five in the contest, as per Sofascore.
He was also joint-first for blocks (two) and interceptions (two) for the East London outfit, and also lost possession just three times, with only Kyle Walker-Peters matching that.

He may be undroppable after what he did against Mikel Arteta’s side.
Nuno Espirito Santo can build his defence around Mavropanos
There was a lot of hype when the Hammers signed the defender from the Gunners, and it looks like he is living up to that.
Nuno can rely on the Greece international to become the leader of his backline, as he tries to get the E20 club out of the mire that they find themselves in.
- Mavropanos has featured 74 times for the Hammers
- He has played in the last five league matches, after not appearing in the first two
- He can thrive with Nuno’s defence-focused system
The former Nottingham Forest manager can build his defence around the ex-VFB Stuttgart man, as he has proven that he can be a standout player against one of the most difficult teams in the league.
If Nuno is to keep his side in the division, he may well need Mavropanos to step up and command at the back, and he has proven that he can do that after his showing against his former club.
It is time for Nuno to trust him to do so.
