Shocking Nuno Espirito Santo stat shows why West Ham are already doomed against Bournemouth
Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking to get his first Premier League victory over Andoni Iraola on Saturday when West Ham face Bournemouth.
The match is already a tough one for the Hammers, with the hosts having a fantastic start to the season.
As a result, it is of little surprise that Bournemouth are the favourites to beat West Ham, despite their heavy 4-0 defeat against Aston Villa before the international break.
However, if West Ham are to come away with a surprise three points, Nuno would have to finally get a Premier League win against Iraola.

Nuno Espirito Santo usually struggles against Andoni Iraola
After West Ham’s victory over Burnley before the international break, they will come into the match against the Cherries full of confidence.
A victory would likely see the Hammers move out of the relegation zone, with the East London club only inside the drop zone on goal difference.
However, given Nuno’s awful record against Iraola, it appears that the Hammers are already doomed.
- West Ham come into Saturday’s match in 18th
- However, the Hammers have won their last two Premier League matches
- In comparison, Bournemouth sit ninth, and have lost their last two matches
According to BBC Sport on 20 November, the West Ham manager has only faced Jurgen Klopp more times in the Premier League without winning, with Nuno yet to pick up a victory against the Bournemouth boss in four outings.
While this run has seen him pick up two draws, he has also suffered some heavy defeats, with the Cherries beating Nottingham Forest 5-0 back in January 2025.

Given that Nuno was still unable to overcome Iraola when he was in charge of a Forest side that were competing for Europe, it would seem West Ham are already doomed going into Saturday’s match.
West Ham have an excellent record against Bournemouth
In comparison, West Ham boast an excellent record against Bournemouth.
The Hammers are unbeaten in their last nine outings against the Cherries, last losing in 2019.
However, many of these matches have been draws, with West Ham’s last Premier League win coming in 2023, in a fantastic 4-0 away victory.
Therefore, many of the Hammers players will be looking to draw inspiration from these past results in order to get an important three points on Saturday.
