Nuno recalls Callum Wilson in two changes – West Ham predicted XI vs Brighton

Nuno Espirito Santo will likely ring the West Ham changes for their Premier League clash against Brighton on Tuesday.

The Hammers are 18th in the Premier League table and sit five points adrift of safety ahead of their last game in 2025.

West Ham are embroiled in a relegation battle, and morale among fans is low as the reality of their situation hits home.

West Ham’s 1-0 loss to Fulham on Saturday was a damaging one, and there is no room for further slip-ups at the London Stadium.

Nuno’s side face 13th-placed Brighton in their next league match, and Callum Wilson is primed to make a return in place of Crysencio Summerville.

Callum Wilson to come in for Crysencio Summerville among two changes

Wilson was finally trusted by Nuno in the 3-1 win over Newcastle on 2 November, and he enjoyed a purple patch that saw him score three goals in two games in November.

However, he has been left on the bench for the last four matches, and has played just 72 minutes of football in that time.

His goal-scoring exploits have been perfect over the past 10 years, and it’s surprising to see Nuno ignore his goal threat over the festive schedule.

Summerville has failed to find his feet in E20 and was once again poor against Fulham.

After failing to make an impact in the final third, the Dutch winger was replaced by Wilson in the 56th minute, and Nuno has to use the conventional striker against the Seagulls.

This would mean Bowen would go back out to the right wing, with Lucas Paqueta playing on the left.

As for the other change, Tomas Soucek could come in for Soungoutou Magassa in an attempt to freshen up the midfield.

West Ham predicted XI vs Brighton

Ollie Scarles will resume his place at left-back, and it gives him the perfect opportunity to make amends for his costly mistake against Fulham.

Ollie Scarles can silence the doubters vs Brighton

Scarles wildly swung to clear the ball against Fulham but failed to make contact with it, and was duly punished by Raul Jimenez just seconds later.

A video emerged of him crying at full-time, and some West Ham fans were quick to criticise the academy graduate.

Sure, his mistake cost the Hammers a valuable point, but to single out the 20-year-old for the wider issues the club has faced is disgraceful.

Thankfully, the majority of supporters have defended him, and they have placed their blame on David Sullivan for the disastrous campaign so far.

Scarles can bounce back from the error with an assured performance on Tuesday, and there is no doubt in his ability when replacing El Hadji Malick Diouf over the coming weeks.
