Nuno Espirito Santo must avoid repeat of Manuel Pellegrini history in West Ham vs Bournemouth
West Ham can continue their return to form when they face Bournemouth this weekend.
Off the back of West Ham’s victory against Burnley, a small amount of belief is starting to re-emerge at the London Stadium after a dismal start to the campaign.
The Hammers return to action this weekend to face the Cherries, with hopes of moving out of the bottom three.
Depending on the results around them, a draw may be enough to do that, though they will be looking to avoid what happened under Manuel Pellegrini back in 2019.

West Ham have an excellent record vs Bournemouth
Dating all the way back to 1929, these two sides have faced off against each other on 22 occasions, with West Ham winning nine games.
Of those 22 encounters, 16 have been played in the Premier League, and the only time that the Hammers have failed to score a goal against the Cherries was back in 2019, when Callum Wilson and Josh King scored in a 2-0 win for the hosts.
Pellegrini was in charge that day, and he remains the only West Ham manager who has failed to see his side score against Bournemouth in a Premier League game.
Since then, the Hammers have scored in nine consecutive games against the Cherries, with a 4-0 win back in 2020 their biggest triumph to date.

However, that is not the only record that Nuno will be aware of ahead of Saturday’s clash, with the West Ham boss also looking to end an unwanted one.
West Ham yet to win after international break.
So far in 2025, there have been three international breaks, and on all three occasions after the break, West Ham have suffered a defeat.
Nuno was in charge of one of them when West Ham fell to a 2-0 defeat against Brentford just last month.

The Hammers are the only Premier League side to have this unwanted feat lingering over them ahead of their return to action.
However, with form starting to build and optimism coming back, the hope will be that the Irons can end that dismal run.
