Luis Guilherme’s West Ham career over as Nuno seals fate with move vs Bournemouth
Luis Guilherme’s West Ham career is as good as done after Nuno Espirito Santo hooked him after 45 minutes against Bournemouth.
West Ham travelled to Bournemouth on Saturday and were held to a 2-2 draw at the Vitality Stadium.
Nuno took a gamble in starting Guilherme, but his feelings were made clear with a decision to substitute the Brazilian at halftime.
The only reason Guilherme started will have been because of Lucas Paqueta’s suspension, and the former didn’t help his chances of staying at E20 beyond January after another dismal showing.

Luis Guilherme was statistically West Ham’s worst player vs Bournemouth
It’s felt like Guilherme’s West Ham future has been uncertain ever since he joined the Hammers.
The game against the Cherries came as arguably the most important of his time in a West Ham shirt, but let’s just say he failed to impress once again.
There’s now a serious chance that Nuno has seen enough of the winger.
| Minutes | Dribbles (successful) | Possession lost | Unsuccessful touches | Ground duels (won) | Shots | Rating |
| 45 | 3 (1) | 9 | 2 | 8 (1) | 0 | 6.3 |
Guilherme only won 12.5 per cent of his ground duels and was clearly out of his depth against Premier League quality.
He managed to create just one chance, but couldn’t even fashion a shot for himself, losing possession a staggering nine times.
The 19-year-old finished the game with a 6.3 rating, the joint-worst on the pitch alongside Igor Julio.

Now, it seems increasingly likely that the Hammers will offload Guilherme in January.
Guilherme should be sold in January
The best decision for all parties at this point would be for Guilherme to be sold in the January market.
He clearly has no place playing in the Premier League, and there’s little hope that he could improve even with a loan move.
| Player | Fee | Bought from | Contract expiry |
| Luis Guilherme | £20m + £6m in add-ons | Palmeiras | June 2029 |
The Hammers invested heavily in the youngster, and there have yet to be any convincing performances so far, with Tim Steidten long gone since that decision.
Given the price Guilherme cost the Irons, they have to accept defeat in this case, unless they want to waste time loaning the attacker out.
A permanent sale is needed, as the transfer will only add to David Sullivan’s growing list of failures.
