How Everton could line up v West Ham United – Jordan Pickford to be axed

Everton will be looking to get back to winning ways against West Ham on Wednesday.

The two sides face off in Chicago in the Premier League Summer Series (30 July) after disappointing results last time out.

David Moyes‘ side were defeated 3-0 by Bournemouth while the Hammers lost 2-1 to Manchester United, with Jarrod Bowen’s strike not enough to change their fortunes.

Both teams will be looking to gain momentum ahead of the new campaign.

Moyes makes two Everton changes for West Ham clash

The first change for the Blues is expected to be between the sticks, with Mark Travers replacing Jordan Pickford.

The Irishman was signed from Bournemouth and could be given a run out in the Chicago clash as Moyes looks to provide genuine competition for the England star.

Nathan Patterson is predicted to get the nod at right-back, with Vitaliy Mykolenko expected to line up on the opposite flank.

At the heart of defence, Jake O’Brien might partner Michael Keane with Tim Iroegbunam dropped from the starting team.

Idrissa Gueye was utilised at centre-back last time out, but he might be back in his familiar defensive midfield position against the Irons and countryman El Hadji Malick Diouf.

James Garner is predicted to be next to the Senegal international in the engine room, with Carlos Alcaraz expected to feature in the number 10 role.

Iliman Ndiaye is expected to start on the right flank, while Dwight McNeil might get the nod on the left with Beto completing the line-up.

Everton will be keen to get one over on West Ham

The London Stadium outfit finished one place below the Toffees last season, with five points seperating them, so they are at similar levels.

If Moyes’ side can beat his former club comfortably, it will be a sign that they have made progress in pre-season and the market.

The Scotsman won the UEFA Europa Conference League when he was in East London, and he will hope to set his Blues side up to achieve something similar in the future.

He will be keen to beat his old team and get revenge for the way that he was treated despite bringing a trophy for the first time in decades.
