‘Evan Ferguson could flourish for West Ham’ after what happened to Bournemouth

Evan Ferguson will be desperate to net his first West Ham goal in the clash against Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Hammers are set to welcome Andoni Iraola’s side to the London Stadium on 5 April in the hope of bouncing back to winning ways.

Last time out, Graham Potter’s side fell to a 1-0 defeat against Wolves after Jorgen Strand-Larsen netted the winner after just 21 minutes at Molineux.

The Irons will be relying on Ferguson to make the difference and secure three points, which could be possible after the Cherries’ failure last time out.

Ferguson could take advantage of Illia Zabarnyi for Bournemouth

The south coast side fell to a 2-1 defeat against Ipswich Town last time out in yet another frustrating defeat at the Vitality.

It is fair to say that Zabarnyi struggled against the Tractor Boys as Liam Delap and Nathan Broadhead got on the scoresheet.

The Ukraine international also committed two fouls on the night, which could prove to be dangerous against the Hammers with James Ward-Prowse sniffing around.

This could all be music to Ferguson’s ears as he looks to score a first goal in claret and blue since signing from Brighton on loan in the winter.

In his last outing, the Republic of Ireland international kept up a 78 per cent pass accuracy while taking one shot at Molineux.

The 20-year-old also won two duels, which could increase if afforded more minutes at the London Stadium, after being hooked at half time against Wolves.

Ferguson could shine for West Ham v Bournemouth

There was so much hype surrounding the striker before he signed in January but he has failed to live up to that so far.

This has come as a blow to the Irons, who have been forced to rely on Jarrod Bowen once again but even he has failed to score in four games.

It will certainly be interesting to see if any Hammers aces can turn their form around and get on the scoresheet against Bournemouth on 5 April.

The Cherries have been involved in their own struggles after losing to Ipswich and Manchester City in their past two outings in all competitions.

Potter will be hopeful of taking advantage of any frailities of Iraola’s side, as will Ferguson in what could be his seventh Premier League appearance.
