David Moyes can begin new West Ham United era with George Earthy call v Manchester City

David Moyes could begin a new era at West Ham by starting George Earthy against Manchester City as the Scot takes charge for the final time on Sunday (19 May).

The 19-year-old has certainly earned his place in the Hammers senior team and will hope to go one step further by making his first start for his boyhood club against the Premier League champions.

Earthy has come on leaps and bounds in the second half of this season, with Moyes finally giving the youngster a chance during West Ham’s 5-0 Europa League win over Freiburg in March.

He was then given a few minutes against Fulham in the Premier League but was involved in a horrible clash of heads which saw him leave on a stretcher, much to the horror of the London Stadium faithful.

Despite this, the Hammers prospect returned to action as Moyes’ side faced Luton Town in the final home game of the season, replacing Michail Antonio before scoring just one minute later.

Considering his rise at the London Stadium, Earthy must be involved in some capacity as the Irons travel to the Etihad Stadium to face Man City and should argue that he has earned his first senior start.
