Crysencio Summerville to be hero again after remarkable FA Cup reveal before West Ham vs Brentford

Crysencio Summerville has been incredible for West Ham since the start of 2026.

Having signed for a fee of £25million plus add-ons from Leeds United in August 2024, the Dutchman initially made a slow start to life in E20.

However, Nuno Espirito Santo has finally gotten the best out of the winger, and there is no doubt that he is one of the most in-form players in England at the moment.

His winning goal against Fulham on Wednesday helped the Hammers close the gap on 17th-placed Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, which reinforced the notion that he is West Ham’s best player.

The 24-year-old was also nominated for January’s Premier League Player of the Month award, and as the Hammers prepare to face Brentford at the London Stadium in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday, he’ll undoubtedly play a huge part in the match.

Crysencio Summerville has been West Ham’s star in the FA Cup

Summerville has scored seven goals in 2026, but he has been particularly crucial to West Ham‘s FA Cup run so far.

He has been involved in all three of West Ham’s FA Cup goals this season, and he has six goal involvements in his last five appearances in the competition.

In the third-round win over QPR, he scored the opener and assisted Taty Castellanos’ winner in extra time.

West Ham’s 1-0 win over Burton in the first round was not a game filled with quality, but Summerville’s magical winner was enough to see off the League One outfit.

According to Sofascore, he has registered 91 touches in the opposition box and a pass accuracy of 83.8 per cent in the Premier League this season.

With 1.59 successful dribbles per 90 minutes in the top flight, the Dutch winger is always a threat, and he does not shy away from taking the responsibility to score and create important goals.

Summerville will be key in West Ham’s cup tie against Brentford, and if the visitors fail to stop him, then they don’t stand much of a chance of progressing to the quarter-finals.

West Ham could be forced into selling Summerville

Without a shadow of doubt, Summerville has been excellent this season.

And West Ham are certainly reaping the rewards from his fine form as they aim to stay in the Premier League.

However, if they do fail to stay in the top flight, then Summerville’s future would be in huge doubt.

Roma reportedly submitted a big offer to sign him in the winter transfer window, and if he continues to excel, several other European clubs will start to take notice.

The positive news for the Hammers is that they would be able to earn a sizeable profit on the winger, but they’ll also definitely be reluctant to lose one of their most important players.

It’s good news that survival looks more likely with each passing week, then.
