West Ham United want Benfica striker Haris Seferovic this summer

West Ham United are in contact with Benfica over the possibility of signing striker Haris Seferovic this summer, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.

The Portuguese giants are demanding £21.42million from suitors for the 29-year-old, with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton also keen.

However, Benfica could do business for less given the current financial situation of things, and West Ham have acquired some information about him and are open to making an offer.

West Ham

Impressive finisher

The Switzerland international was in fine form last term, bagging 26 goals and seven assists in all competitions for Benfica.

Seferovic continued his brilliance in front of goal at the European Championship, including a brace in the 3-3 draw against France in the last-16.

West Ham need a reliable finisher leading the line next term, and we believe the Swiss could be perfect for the job.

We are yet to make any signings this summer, and a striker should top manager David Moyes’ wishlist.

The Hammers boss has been keeping an eye on the Euros and could have been impressed with Seferovic’s performances.

The Benfica star proved too much to handle for the star-studded French defence, and he seems capable of doing something similar in the English top-flight.

West Ham

West Ham cannot afford to rely solely on the injury-prone Michail Antonio next term, and we need to land a quality hitman.

Seferovic had an underwhelming campaign in 2019-20, scoring just five league goals, but was in brilliant form in 2018-19, ending the season with 23 goals and five assists.

He would not cost a lot from the look of things and is the type of striker we should be looking to pip rivals to this summer.
