West Ham United unlikely to move for Blackburn forward Ben Brereton Diaz
West Ham United are unlikely to move for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz after the arrival of Gianluca Scamacca according to Claret and Hugh.
The Sun reported (24 July) that the Irons are weighing up a move for the 22-year-old Chilean international to join Scamacca at the London Stadium.
However reliable Hammers website Claret and Hugh suggested on Wednesday 27 July that Brereton Diaz is unlikely to be made the club’s third striking option.

Another striker?
Do the Hammers need another striker to compete with Scamacca and Michail Antonio for the upcoming season?
David Moyes will only be able to play two strikers at a time and may only operate with a single striker on occassions.
Another striker could be of use to Moyes in case of an injury, but he certainly shouldn’t pay an extortionate amount on a new forward.
Brereton Diaz would’ve been a good option considering his ability to play across the front line, but considering his contract expires next summer, it could well be one to revisit in a year’s time.

Scamacca will be expecting to feature heavily this season and provide real competition to Antonio up front and another striker joining the club could have an impact on the game time that he gets.
Moyes should probably be looking at bringing in another central defender and potentially another central midfielder to provide some depth.
The West Ham boss is also on the trail of a left-back with Filip Kostic a player the Scot has identified.
