West Ham United injury news drops on Lucas Paqueta at London Stadium

West Ham United attacker Lucas Paqueta could return from injury within the next two weeks, according to The Athletic.

The publication reported on its website on Monday (5 February) that David Moyes is hopeful of Paqueta returning in that timeframe.

The Brazilian star has missed West Ham’s last four matches in all competitions due to a calf injury sustained against Bristol City in the FA Cup.

Paqueta a huge miss for West Ham

It goes without saying just how much Moyes misses Paqueta, with the Brazilian having been in fine form before his injury.

The East London club have been handed several injury problems this season, with striker Michail Antonio still not available to be called upon.

He has been missed in the final third, as has Paqueta, with the 26-year-old also crucial to the Hammers when it comes to the defensive side of the game.

And the club’s results in all competitions without their star man proves just how pivotal he is, with the London Stadium outfit not winning any of the four matches he has missed recently.

Bristol City knocked them out of the FA Cup via a replay, while the Hammers drew in the Premier League against Sheffield United and Bournemouth.

They have also lost to Manchester United, with Paqueta also missing out against Brighton at the beginning of January, with that game ending in a draw.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are now owed an apology after an “incomprehensible” transfer window development.
