WHZ View: Wilshere embarasses himself with latest West Ham claim
Jack Wilshere has hit out at West Ham after he had his contract ripped up on transfer deadline day this summer.
The 28-year-old signed for the Hammers in 2018 after being released by Arsenal and went on to only make 18 competitive appearances for the club.
He remains a free agent following his release this summer and in a recent interview, Wilshere aimed a dig at his former side.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wilshere said, “I don’t think being at a smaller club like West Ham really suited me.”
This is a fairly insulting and nonsensical statement from Wilshere following a two-year spell in which the England international utterly underwhelmed for the Irons.
Firstly, describing West Ham as a ‘smaller club’ comes across as incredibly bitter and it would be astonishing if Wilshere manages to move to a club that is ‘bigger’ than the one he left in the summer.
West Ham gave Wilshere chances to play and he didn’t impress, which is why he didn’t play. He has no one else to blame for his poor spell at the London Stadium other than himself.

Wilshere has had injury problems throughout his career and Arsenal, who we can only assume are a bigger club in Wilshere’s eyes, couldn’t help to fix them so what did he expect the Hammers to be able to do?
The same problems occurred and Wilshere missed most of his final season with the Irons through injury.
We can only speculate, but this is probably why he is struggling to find a new club as no one in their right mind would take a chance on a player who is famously injury-prone.
You can only judge Wilshere on the games he played for the Hammers. He scored one goal and registered one assist in his two-year spell.
In comparison, Mark Noble scored nine and registered eight assists over the same period and if you aren’t matching Noble as a midfielder then your days are numbered.
It seems as though Wilshere is trying to blame anyone he can for his failing career when it is obvious to anyone other than himself that he has to take at least some of the blame.

Hitting out at West Ham will do him no favours and he should be thankful that the club even took a punt on him in the first place.
There is an air of arrogance around Wilshere’s comments as he seems to suggest he still belongs at a big club despite him not playing regular football for over two years.
He couldn’t make it at West Ham, so what on earth makes him think that he can move to a club that he perceives to be bigger?
No wonder he can’t find a club if his aspirations are that high, we doubt any Premier League club would take Wilshere at this point so he should stop embarrassing himself and keep his mouth shut.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie has urged Declan Rice to make a decision on his Hammers future.
