West Ham will be delighted with what Axel Disasi has just said about Chelsea
West Ham have been handed a major boost in their bid to sign Axel Disasi permanently.
The centre-back completed a loan switch to the London Stadium during the winter transfer window, a sorely-needed escape from his nightmare at Chelsea.
Disasi was frozen out by Enzo Maresca and placed in his ‘bomb squad’, which allowed the Hammers to seal a swoop in their bid to strengthen Nuno Espirito Santo’s backline.
The switch was certainly a risk, the defender having not played senior football since the back end of the 2024-25 campaign, but it has paid off handsomely.
Now, the Hammers have seemingly been given the green light to table a longer-term deal.

What has Axel Disasi said about Chelsea?
Disasi has breathed new life into his stalling career since arriving at West Ham, making six starts and one substitute appearance in all competitions.
He played the full 120 minutes of the FA Cup fifth-round penalty shootout victory against Brentford, and also excelled in the hard-fought 1-0 win at Fulham on March 4.
His heroics are a staggering contrast to his spell stuck in the doldrums at Chelsea, and he has admitted he “could get into trouble” if he shared his real thoughts on the situation.
As quoted by Sky Sports, he said: “If I say everything, maybe I will get into trouble, but it was tough. It was very tough to watch every single week, every single weekend, the games on TV.
“I was just working, waiting for my time and that’s why now I’m just enjoying because I know what it feels like to be in front of the TV and not on the pitch.”

Chelsea’s loss is certainly West Ham’s gain, and the natural next step is to broker a permanent move as soon as the curtain falls on this season.

Disasi encapsulates West Ham fighting spirit
While Nuno deserves credit for inspiring a turnaround in the Hammers’ Premier League survival fight, his players, including Disasi, have also stepped up to the plate.
The defender in particular has been an inspirational presence and embodies a healthy shift in mentality, which stretches across the entirety of the club.

In his five top-flight appearances, Disasi has helped his new side pick up eight points. The 5-2 defeat by Liverpool aside, they also conceded just one goal in the other four games.
That resurgent streak has put them back in contention to avoid the drop, but regardless of their fate, they must make signing Disasi a priority ahead of the summer.
