West Ham United told Sindre Walle Egeli transfer terms amid Nordsjaelland exit update

The summer transfer window may have only closed a matter of weeks ago, but the recruitment team at West Ham United will already be looking ahead to January.

Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten combined in the summer to completely revamp the playing squad left behind by David Moyes ahead of the Spaniard’s first season in charge at the London Stadium.

While the Hammers look in a much better place than they were at the end of last season, there is still room for improvement and there is a chance they could return to the transfer market in January.

One man the Irons are reportedly keeping an eye on is FC Nordsjaelland forward Sindre Walle Egeli who has been dubbed the next Erling Haaland [Graeme Bailey, 10 September].

Lopetegui’s side aren’t alone in admiring the 18-year-old, with Brentford, Brighton and Crystal Palace all also understood to be interested in securing the Norwegian international in the future.

Whether or not the Hammers intend on making a move for Egeli remains unclear, but a new update has told West Ham exactly what they will have to pay to get the teenager out of Nordsjaelland.

Are West Ham close to any new signings after summer transfer deadline?

Reports from the Daily Mail (19 September) suggest that Newcastle United are also keeping tabs on Egeli as they look to bolster Eddie Howe’s forward options in the coming months.

According to the report, club sources have suggested that it would take a bid in the region of £21million to tempt Nordsjaelland into allowing one of their brightest prospects to depart the club.

Competition for the 18-year-old’s signature is expected to be fierce with several clubs understood to be in the mix for Egeli’s services and it remains unclear if the Hammers will make a genuine push.

Will Sindre Walle Egeli exit Nordsjaelland after Newcastle transfer update?

£21million is a lot of money for a player who has yet to prove himself in the Premier League and with the Hammers’ budget set to be small in January, West Ham may struggle to win the race for Egeli [Sean Whetstone, 8 September].

Maybe Steidten and those around him at the London Stadium will manage to find the money to get this deal over the line ahead of their Premier League rivals, but such a deal seems unlikely to happen after this latest development.
