West Ham United appear to have made David Moyes sack decision clear with announcement
West Ham sit fourth in the Premier League early in the 2023-24 campaign, while memories of May’s Europa Conference League success remain fresh in the memory.
Any sort of questions over David Moyes’ future at this stage, then, seem quite frankly ridiculous.
And yet some on social media still believe the Hammers would be better off appointing another manager, one who will bring with him a more front-footed approach to playing.

As is the way with football, it only takes a couple of results for the mood to change drastically.
Defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool in United’s next two league games, say, would all of a sudden dilute what has been a superb start to the campaign.
But unlike last season when Moyes appeared to be under intense pressure following every defeat, the mood around the London Stadium now is a lot different.
Indeed, the Hammers this week announced three new appointments to Moyes’ coaching staff, with the Scotsman seemingly having a big say in those arrivals.
John Heitinga, who spent time in charge of Ajax last season, was one of those recruited as the pair reunited following their time working together at Everton.

Henry Newman and Mark Robson were promoted from within, meanwhile, both with the backing of Moyes.
If ever there was a vote of confidence – if it was even needed – then this announcement was very much exactly that.
Moyes’ coaching set-up now looks complete after some murmurings of discontent over the summer, and the 60-year-old can focus fully on hopefully maintaining the club’s impressive run of results.
For the first time in a long time, Moyes can breathe freely in the knowledge that his job is not under any serious threat.
Now all that awaits is a new contract of his own.
In other West Ham news, a Hammers player was involved in a face-to-face spat while away on international duty.
