West Ham United need to make bold transfer call on Pierre Ekwah after his performance v Cambridge
West Ham sensation Pierre Ekwah was on target as the Hammers won 4-2 against Cambridge in the friendly game on Tuesday (6 December).
Ekwah was one of a number of academy players to come off the bench in the second half, and he did make an impact scoring the fourth goal for the Hammers from outside the penalty box.
West Ham’s first-team coach Mark Warburton was heavily pleased with the youngster who spent three years at Chelsea prior to joining the Hammers’ academy.

“It was a good goal,” Warburton told football.London.
“Those boys get the opportunity by the manager and staff. They have to make sure they take those opportunities.
“It is a harsh game they are in, it’s a tough business they are involved in. But they have trained well. They have done well for Mark (Robson) in the 21s.
“This is the chance to step up and take that opportunity. I am pleased for him tonight.”
Ekwah is yet to make his official debut for West Ham’s senior side but his impressive performances at the academy level haven’t gone unnoticed.
He has been an unused substitute four times which means the club has got plans for him in the future.
The latest performance will surely be noticed by David Moyes and he needs to make a bold call on the player’s immediate future.

ExWHUemployee reported [2 December] that Ekwah is set to depart the club on loan in January. with many clubs vying for his signature.
The reliable Hammers source suggested that the 20-year-old midfielder “caused a stir” at the club after producing some excellent displays in pre-season with the first team.
The youngster is most likely to be allowed to leave the club to seek regular first-team football to help his progress.
The midfield is one area where Moyes could look to bring in another player, but Ekwah’s recent performance could change his plans. Will he take a risk and draft him into the senior side?
Whatever, it is, it will be a bold call from Moyes, as it can work either way.
He won’t be a bad option from the bench in European games. Nevertheless, a loan move could be ideal for his development, but it seems he can do a job for the senior team as well.
