West Ham United must sign RB Leipzig defender Angelino

West Ham are showing keen interest in signing RB Leipzig defender Angelino, and David Moyes should look to bring him to the London Stadium this summer.

The Hammers desperately need to sign a new left-back this summer, and they have been heavily linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Filip Kostic.

Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports reported on 1 August that the Hammers are still in talks to sign Kostic who could decide to stay at the German club and leave as a free agent next summer.

With the deal hanging in the balance, the Hammers should look for options elsewhere.

According to a report from La voz De Galicia (31 July), West Ham are looking to sign former Manchester City defender “immediately”.

The 25-year-old has made 100 appearances for Leipzig, where he managed 12 goals and 28 assists in two and a half years.

With Arthur Masuaku all set to depart, this is a golden chance for the Hammers to move quickly and wrap up a deal for the player who could be allowed to leave this summer.

Leipzig have signed David Raum, one of the players who Moyes wanted to bring to the club this summer, and they are prepared to let Angelino leave.

The Hammers can pull off a transfer jackpot here by signing Angelino, who can play as a left-back as also a left-sided midfield, just what Moyes needs at the moment.

With Brighton also in the hunt, the Hammers should move quickly and wrap up the deal at the earliest.
