West Ham United must sack David Moyes now as Mauricio Pochettino update emerges at Chelsea
West Ham United appear set part company with David Moyes at the end of the season to bring an end to the Scotsman’s second spell in East London.
The Hammers boss’ contract expires at the end of the season and it appears increasingly likely that he will not agree a new deal to extend his stay as various names begin to be linked with a place in the Irons’ dugout.
So far, Julen Lopetegui, Ruben Amorim, Thomas Tuchel and Gary O’Neil have all been mooted as potential successors, but the Irons are still yet to make an official decision over Moyes’ future, with the suggestion being they’ll wait until the end of the season.
Will David Moyes leave the London Stadium and West Ham United?
While both parties are completely within their rights to take their time over this call, they may have to act quickly to get their pick of the managers as there could well be another Premier League rival looking for a new boss this summer.
A report from The Telegraph (24 April) suggests that Chelsea are still yet to decide whether or not Mauricio Pochettino will remain in charge at Stamford Bridge beyond the end of the season, following the Blues’ heavy defeat to Arsenal.
Already, the Hammers are having to compete with the likes of Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Barcelona in their search for a new manager. Adding Chelsea to that mix will only make it even harder for West Ham to get their top candidate.
The owners at Stamford Bridge are not afraid to throw money around and their project could prove to be a more tempting proposition for managers who are currently out of work than that on offer at the London Stadium.

While nothing has been decided by either the Irons or Chelsea at this moment in time, Tim Steidten and the team around him in East London must reach a final decision sooner rather than later or it could come back to bite them.
With Manchester United still undecided over Erik ten Hag’s long-term future as well, there is potential for a big managerial merry go round come the end of the season and the Hammers don’t want to find themselves stuck in the middle of it.
