West Ham United must make big transfer move before it’s too late
West Ham United slumped to the bottom of the Premier League on Sunday (21 August) as they were beaten 2-0 by Brighton and Hove Albion.
Recent summer signing Thilo Kehrer made his first start for the club but gave away a first-half penalty by tripping Danny Welbeck that Alexis Mac Allister converted before Leandro Trossard doubled the visitors’ lead.
It has been a dreadful start to the campaign for David Moyes’ men and the manager himself is not helping himself with the excuses he is coming out with.

“I’m disappointed because we didn’t win. We did OK but we gave away a couple of really poor goals,” the manager said, as quoted by the BBC.
“The penalty was the turning point, we started OK and contained them a little bit but we lacked that bit of quality and we didn’t keep the ball when we won it. We hadn’t done badly up till then.
“The same situation happened in the second half as well. We got ourselves back in the game and looked threatening but the second goal was a killer and we were punished.”
Moyes has to start forgetting such futile excuses such as the very clear penalty and realise that this squad has not improved anywhere near enough compared to the rest of the division.

There is not much time before the transfer window slams shut on 1 September and there are still big holes in the squad that have to be filled before then.
Vladimir Coufal proved that he is no longer up to it at the highest level at right-back while none of the midfielders were able to create a meaningful chance for the star players of Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and Gianluca Scamacca.
Luckily, the money is in the bank for a few more big signings over the next couple of weeks but West Ham should not be waiting around any longer.
