West Ham United have perfect Michail Antonio heir as staff sent on transfer mission for record-breaking Serhou Guirassy
West Ham fans can be forgiven for thinking that striker Michail Antonio wouldn’t be up to the task of leading the line this season.
At 33, the Jamaican international isn’t exactly their ideal man to fire them to success in the Premier League and the Europa League.
But he has shut down any fears about his ability with a fine start to the new season, with Antonio a regular under David Moyes. It is, however, winger Jarrod Bowen who leads the club scoring charts, with midfielder Tomas Soucek close behind.

Antonio’s two league goals were welcomed with open arms by Hammers supporters, particularly given how they came against Chelsea and Brighton, helping secure two fantastic wins for the club.
But the time is undoubtedly coming when an heir will be needed at the London Stadium, with youngsters Divin Mubama and Callum Marshall perhaps eyeing that role.
However, the Hammers are seemingly keen on going in a different direction, with 90min (11 October) reporting that the club have sent scouts to watch Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy in action.

The 27-year-old has banged in 14 goals from his eight appearances in all competitions this season. A total of 13 of those goals have come from seven Bundesliga matches, which is a record at this stage of the season [Reuters, 7 October].
The striker really does have the potential to set the London Stadium alight, with Hammers fans licking their lips at the idea of the club bringing him to East London as soon as January.
