West Ham United handed biggest boost yet in Cole Palmer pursuit as Manchester City transfer news emerges
West Ham have enjoyed a strong start to the new Premier League season, with the club undefeated in their first two matches.
They began proceedings with a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth last Saturday (12 August), before defeating Chelsea 3-1 at the London Stadium on Sunday (20 August).
The latter result was absolutely a team performance, but the Hammers simply wouldn’t have clinched all three points without summer signing James Ward-Prowse.

The former Southampton midfielder chipped in with two assists on his debut for the club, already proving his worth to his new manager David Moyes.
That should inspire the manager to make further new signings this summer, with Manchester City winger Cole Palmer seemingly one of his main targets. The 21-year-old has started the season in fine fashion with two goals from just 121 minutes on the pitch.
And according to ExWHUEmployee (15 August), West Ham want to bring the attacker to the London Stadium before the transfer window closes.

The East London outfit have now been handed their biggest boost yet in his potential signature, with fellow winger Jeremy Doku closing in on a move to Manchester City from Ligue 1 club Rennes.
“Jeremy Doku is expected to travel to the northwest today to undergo a medical and complete a £55.5m move to Manchester City from Rennes,” according to Sky Sports (22 August).
The Belgian youngster plays in the exact same position as Palmer, meaning the latter could be forced out of Manchester this summer in order to secure regular minutes elsewhere.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to sign a Serie A striker as a replacement for Gianluca Scamacca, who left to join Atalanta earlier this summer.
