West Ham United fans ‘have every right to be furious’ at official announcement

West Ham United supporters have every right to be angry as an official announcement has been made regarding the Newcastle United fixture in March.

As confirmed by the club’s official X account on Saturday (25 January), the contest has now been shifted to 8pm on Monday, 10 March.

It means yet another league game for West Ham fans on a Monday, with many quick to react with their thoughts on the official communication.

West Ham United vs Newcastle United kick-off time changes

Football is made for Saturday afternoons, but you would not know that following United this season as more and more games seem to be played on a Monday of late.

The positive is that at least plenty of warning has been given for supporters to make adequate plans for the match.

And the reason behind this decision, of course, is so Sky Sports – who ultimately dictate the fixture list – can show the match live.

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers will be in a relegation battle come this fixture, or indeed looking up at the European spots.

Either way, supporters will have to ready themselves for another match on the first day of the week. On past experiences, that can also impact the atmosphere.

The Irons have five matches to come before then, starting with the trip to Aston Villa on Sunday (26 January).

In other West Ham news, the Irons are in talks over a possible loan deal.
