West Ham United: David Moyes job should be safe as 44% stat emerges
David Moyes’ job should be safe at West Ham after a stat emerged showing he has the highest win ratio of any permanent Hammers manager in history following their 2-1 win against Burnley.
Moyes has enjoyed a win ratio of 44.30% over 228 games with West Ham, winning 101 of those, drawing 45 and losing 82. This has put him ahead of legendary boss Billy Bonds (43.88%) and Ted Fenton (41.47%).
The boss has come under plenty of pressure this season after the Hammers experienced a dip in form, but having got back to winning ways, his job should be safe for now.
Twitter account West Ham Football, run by journalist Sean Whetstone, shared the stat on 27 November, writing: “Outside of caretaker managers, David Moyes has the highest win ratio of any West Ham manager in history at 44.3%”
This stat should provide an illustration as to how well Moyes has done during his time at the London Stadium, with an excellent record spanning over more than 200 games something that is rarely achieved by any manager, let alone in the modern era.
It is easy to become frustrated with elements of the football on show at the London Stadium recently. Some inconsistent performances, accusations that the boss is not getting the best out of some of the attacking talent in their ranks, and questions over the mentality have all been levelled.
With all these frustrations, though, has come a level of reliability and stability to the club and the team. A first European trophy and the knowledge that the club has progressed under his guidance should provide a positive look for Moyes.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, his future is far from secure, but his short-term future should be safe and it seems he will be unlikely to face the sack before his deal runs out.
