West Ham to scupper David Moyes’ plans with swoop for Sunderland star who left Wayne Rooney stunned
West Ham remain in the transfer market for new arrivals, and Sunderland may have someone perfect for them.
West Ham are not dead and buried quite yet, and their recent 2-1 win over Tottenham has given them some hope of avoiding relegation.
However, the truth of the matter is that they remain five points adrift of safety in the Premier League, and still need more quality to come through the door in these next 12 days.
Amid links to Brooke Norton-Cuffy, the Irons are looking to add options to their defensive setup, though they will not turn their noses up at other potential deals should they arrive.
One that could emerge is a transfer that the Irons looked at in the summer, and if they were to rekindle that interest, it would also serve as a blow to David Moyes.

West Ham could sign Eliezer Mayenda this winter
West Ham scouts had a look at Sunderland ahead of their promotion to the Premier League, and among the players they took a fancy to were Chris Rigg and Eliezer Mayenda.
The duo have something in common this season, with that being that neither have had access to regular gametime, showcasing just how much quality the Black Cats recruited in the summer.
Mayenda, in particular, is a real livewire for the Wearsiders and has posed a threat whenever he has played for Sunderland, and the Irons could certainly do with someone of his talent.
For Sunderland, it would make little sense to sell him, but for West Ham, it would make a lot of sense to at least look into a deal.
With Everton having been linked with a move for Wilson Isidor, the Irons could scupper those plans, given the fact that the Mackems wouldn’t even negotiate an exit for both attackers.

What did Eliezer Mayenda do that left Wayne Rooney in awe?
Prior to the arrival of Brian Brobbey, who was once linked with West Ham, the Black Cats only had Isidor and Mayenda as striker options.
And after the form the latter finished the Championship campaign with, he was afforded the chance to start the Premier League season as their first-choice striker.
Not to bring up bad memories, but his Premier League debut came for Sunderland against West Ham in a 3-0 win, and it was his goal that caught the attention of Wayne Rooney on Match of the Day.
“If you look at Mayenda, he occupies the defence, stays in the middle of the goal, which is really important, and the cross, it’s a good cross,” Rooney said.
“He’s got no right to score there, and I think it’s just pure determination, willing to put his head on the end of the ball, gets a good contact, good header, and a well-deserved goal to put them 1-0 up.”
