West Ham to revisit James Trafford deal as Man City exit news emerges
James Trafford was linked with a move to West Ham in the summer.
West Ham are at a serious risk of relegation this season, and their ability to recruit well in the winter is what will determine whether or not they can steer clear.
Signing a striker in January is going to be the number one priority for the Hammers, though there are several other areas that will also need attention.
One of those certainly concerns the goalkeeper situation, and as a result, a move for Trafford could be back on the cards.
James Trafford could leave Man City in January
West Ham tried to sign Trafford in the summer, though their failure to do so was largely down to the fact that Man City had a buy-back clause in his contract
That deal went through as expected, but the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma immediately made his role in the squad redundant.
As a result, Manchester Evening News have reported that an exit is now looking “inevitable” for the Englishman, and it could spark interest from the Irons.
Mads Hermansen’s move to the London Stadium has been a failure, and Alphonse Areola has done little to showcase that he is worthy of a starting role.

Depending on the nature of the deal and the finances involved, there is every chance that West Ham could revisit it in January.
West Ham’s goalkeeping issue has gone under the radar
There are a lot of issues at West Ham this season, though some of them have been overshadowed.
Their goalkeeping concerns are one of them, with both Hermansen and Areola massively underperforming when taking into account the level at which they are playing.

Via FotMob, the duo have conceded 3.4 goals more than they have been expected to when taking into account the quality of shots faced.
Hermansen has a woeful 45 per cent save percentage in the league, with Areola’s also rather poor at just 66.7 per cent.
This is not anywhere near their biggest concern, though it is one of many.
