West Ham to accept bizarre transfer offer amid Luizao exit latest

Luizao has been a forgotten man at West Ham in recent years.

The Brazilian has spent the latter half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Pogon Szczecin after failing to make a breakthrough at the Hammers.

As a result, Luizao launched an attack on West Ham, claiming some coaches don’t like using younger players.

Since then, the 20-year-old has been linked away from the London Stadium, with the transfer saga now developing further.

West Ham to allow Luizao to leave for no loan fee amid Fortaleza interest

Graham Potter will no doubt be keen on getting rid of West Ham’s fringe players this summer to help raise funds for transfers.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Luizao is linked with an exit this summer.

According to UOL (23 July), the defender is wanted by Brazilian outfit Fortaleza.

A loan with the option to buy is being touted, with this offer set to be formalised soon.

West Ham are willing to sanction this, and are even happy to offer a free loan, as long as there is an option to buy.

Both parties are currently in talks, with Fortaleza counting on the athlete’s desire to return to Brazilian football as a trump card.

If West Ham accept this, it would be idiotic. While the London club would do well to get rid of Luizao, there is no guarantee that Fortaleza will trigger the option to make it a permanent deal.

With the Brazilian only having a year left on his contract, the Hammers have to ensure they get a guaranteed transfer fee this summer, or they risk getting nothing for the youngster.

The fact that Potter is willing to get no loan fee for the defender only makes this situation more bizarre.

West Ham have to improve their negotiating skills

Many times in recent years, West Ham have been on the wrong end of a transfer, which has resulted in the London club getting a poor deal.

With PSR dominating Premier League football, this cannot be allowed to continue, and the Hammers have to improve their negotiation skills.

If not, West Ham will be left behind in the market and will struggle to compete in the top-flight.

Hopefully, Potter is able to strike a bargain or two before the summer is out.
