West Ham receive huge Endrick transfer update as Real Madrid ‘priority’ emerges ahead of January
West Ham are targeting an eye-catching move for Endrick in the January transfer window.
The Hammers find themselves rooted in the Premier League relegation zone after an awful start to the season, but are now lining up a move for one of world football’s brightest young talents.
West Ham have been linked with Endrick in the past, but they appear to have taken their interest to the next level on this occasion, having recently made contact with Real Madrid about a potential deal.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side may have struggled on the pitch so far this season, but it is clear that they are aiming high when it comes to reinforcing the squad this winter.

Endrick deal is now off the table for West Ham
West Ham have been keen to sign Endrick on a loan deal until the end of the season, as they look to provide a temporary escape for him from Madrid.
The Brazilian youngster arrived in the Spanish capital to great fanfare in the summer of 2024, but is yet to make a competitive appearance for them under Xabi Alonso so far this season.
As a result, the 19-year-old appears to be keen on a loan move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this winter, but the latest update from his current club is certainly not a positive one for West Ham.
- Endrick is Palmeiras’ youngest ever debutant and goalscorer
- He signed for Real Madrid in December 2022 but couldn’t move until after his 18th birthday
- He hit seven goals from 37 games in his debut campaign for them last season
Los Merengues are understood to be “prioritising” Endrick’s development in the “medium-term,” and want to loan him to a Spanish club in January, according to Fichajes.
It is understood that Madrid feel that a familiar environment would be “most appropriate” for the forward at this stage of his development, rather than a move to the Premier League, which would be “too aggressive” for him at this stage of his career.

With that stance now clear from the Spanish giants, it appears that any possibility of a deal is now off the table for the East Londoners.

The Hammers’ striker curse may have continued with Endrick
West Ham have had a torrid record with strikers over the years, and that has been highlighted once again with Niclas Fullkrug suffering yet another injury setback recently.
The E20 outfit have a knack for signing injury-prone and struggling frontmen, and with that in mind, there may be a feeling that they have dodged a bullet somewhat with Endrick.
The former Palmeiras starlet has had issues with both his hamstring and his thigh of late, and hasn’t made an appearance for Real Madrid since before the Club World Cup in the summer.
There are no guarantees that his injury woes would have continued at the London Stadium, but the Hammers simply could not have afforded to bring in another injury-prone star in their current predicament.
West Ham need a big January window to haul themselves away from the drop zone, and Endrick may ultimately have been too much of a gamble for them anyway.
